* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...St. Marys River at Rockford.
* WHEN...Until Sunday evening.
* IMPACTS...At 13.0 feet, State Route 117 near Route 118 north of Rockford is water-covered and closed.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:40 PM EDT Saturday the stage was 13.1 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.2 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage early tomorrow afternoon. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Barton Maurer
Barton G. Maurer, 41, of New Bremen, died on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at 3:55 A.M. at Ohio's Hospice of Central Ohio at the Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio after a long battle with his health.     He was born on September 10, 1983 in St. Marys, the son of J. Gregory and Cathy A. (Mraz) Maurer who survive in New Bremen.
Also surviving are his siblings: Brett (Mayli) Maurer of New Bremen, and Cassie Maurer of Columbus; his nieces and nephews: Emmitt, Liam, Lynnae, and Naomie Maurer, and Cassie's fur babies, River and Indy; and also by his paternal grandmother, Elaine Maurer.
Bart was preceded in death by his grandparents: John Maurer, and Walter and Ruth Mraz.
Bart was a 2002 graduate of New Bremen High School, and went on to graduate from Hocking College where he earned his degree in Fish Management and Aquaculture. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in New Bremen and the New Bremen Rod and Gun Club where he was a former trustee. He was also a 1st degree Mason with the Mercer F&AM Lodge #121. He had worked for Precision Strip, Inc. in Alabama and Michigan and more recently for Platinum Auto of New Bremen in their parts department.
In his free time, Bart loved to spend time with family and friends, go hunting and fishing, watch sporting events, and play board games. He was an avid bowler and golfer, a great cook, and was a huge movie buff. Bart will always be remembered for his outgoing and welcoming personality, his quick wit, and his love of nature.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at the St. Paul United Church of Christ in New Bremen, with Rev. David Voll officiating. Interment will follow in the German Protestant Cemetery in New Bremen.
Calling Hours will take place on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 from 3:00 until 7:00 PM at the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen, and again on Wednesday, at the church, one hour prior to the services.
Memorial contributions in memory of Bart may be made to Ohio's Hospice of Central Ohio (2269 Cherry Valley Road, Newark, Ohio 43055), New Bremen Rod & Gun Club (4561 State Route 274, New Bremen, Ohio 45869) or the New Bremen Emergency Squad (214 N. Washington Street, New Bremen, Ohio 45869).
