Light snow will move across the region today. While accumulations are expected to be less than an inch, the snow may cause some slick areas on roads, especially untreated ones as well as bridges and overpasses. The snow will blow around easily and occasionally reduce visibility as well, as winds will gust to 20 to 25 MPH later today.
Use extra caution if driving late this morning into the afternoon and allow extra time to reach your destination.

Kyle Shaner
Kyle Leon Shaner, age 38, of Cincinnati, passed away at his home of natural causes Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
He was born June 22, 1986, to Kent and Karen (Bertke) Shaner of Montezuma. He is survived by his sister, Kristi Shaner, her significant other, Rich Herr, and niece, Joelle Shaner, of Montezuma along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Kyle was preceded in death by his grandparents, Virgil "Bud" and H. June Bertke, as well as V. Leon and Laurie Shaner.
A proud graduate of Marion Local High School and Ball State University, Kyle worked as a public information officer at the University of Cincinnati. Before that, he worked in journalism as a sports and news editor. An avid sports enthusiast, Kyle passionately supported the Minnesota Vikings and Cincinnati Reds as well as the Ohio State Buckeyes, Marion Local Flyers, and Ball State Cardinals.
Kyle was a lifelong Eagle Scout and founder of the Quarterback Challenge at the Maria Stein Country Fest. He cherished his time spent with family at Grand Lake, especially jet skiing.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 13, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Maria Stein, followed by burial in St. John's Cemetery.
Friends and family may visit on Sunday, January 12, from 1 to 5 p.m., and Monday from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater. Visitors are encouraged to join the family in wearing apparel representing their favorite team or school in Kyle's memory.
In lieu of flowers or keepsakes, memorial contributions can be made to Marion Township Park. Condolences may be shared at hogenkampfh.com.
