* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Thomas "Tom" Leon Logan Age 82 March 10, 1942 - January 13, 2025
He is survived by his wife, Dianne, daughter Denise Thede (Robert Branam) of Indianapolis, and daughter Kathy Coughlin (Patrick) of Sagamore Hills. Grandchildren include Michael Thede, Andrew Thede, and Chase Coughlin. Brother Richard "Dick" Logan (Donna) of Prescott, AZ; niece Susan Wilkins of St. Marys; and brother-in-law, Dennis Nuesmeyer (Lydia).
Other family include Ian Nuesmeyer, JJ Nuesmeyer, and many Nuesmeyer cousins, Kendra Opperman, Jill and Danni Schneider and family, and Ryan and Stephanie Opperman and family.
Preceding him in death were his parents Irvin and Eleanor Logan Ritchie; sister, Earline Opperman (Marvin), brother, Eugene Shives, and nephew, Larry Wilkins.
Tom graduated from Memorial High School in 1960 and attended Capital University for 2 years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Moulton. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed trap shooting, hunting, and fishing locally at Indiana Lake as well as occasional trips to Lake Erie. He also enjoyed his feline friend "Fancy."
He had a beautiful tenor voice and sang in various church choirs and for numerous weddings over the years. He enjoyed contemporary Christian music as well as the traditional hymns.
Tom and his friend and business partner, Calvin Caywood, took over "Logan Furniture" after Tom's father's death. They ran it for 30 years, and they appreciated the customer base they had in the community. Tom frequently commented how good the business in St. Marys was to them. Upon retirement, he missed talking to the customers.
Tom was fortunate to be able to travel and enjoyed trips to Israel, Egypt, the Canadian Rockies, Hawaii, Alaska, and many other states in the US. He enjoyed watching sports on TV: especially the Cleveland Cavaliers and Browns as well as the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals. He often channel surfed to find other sports teams that might be playing. He enjoyed mowing grass, taking care of his lawn, and tending the fire in the woodstove for the fall and winter season.
Viewing will be held at Miller Funeral Home of 1605 Celina Road, St. Marys, OH, from 4-7pm on Wed., Jan. 15. The funeral will also be held at Miller Funeral Home at 10:30am on Thurs., Jan. 16th .
