Alanna Bush
Alanna L. Bush, age 87, of Celina, Ohio, formerly of Canton, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2025, at her residence.
She was born on December 11, 1937, in Canton to the late Albert and Mildred (Staneart) Manist. Alanna married Gene A. Bush on December 1, 1956, and he preceded her in death on January 25, 2009.
Alanna is lovingly survived by her daughter, Alissa (David) Gray of Fort Recovery, Ohio; her daughter-in-law, Shannon Bush of Hernet, California; her grandchildren, Ryan (Hanna) Gray of Mainesville, Ohio, Andrew Gray of Fort Recovery, Cassandra (Morgan) Boyle of Piqua, Tarah (Jonathan) Novotny of Utah, Hannah Forsberg of Utah, Jared Forsberg of Utah, and Dylan Forsberg of Idaho; as well as her great-grandchildren, Levi Gray, Carmen Boyle, Payson Novotny, Luke Novotny, and Christopher Aliff.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Eric Bush, who passed away on February 9, 2009.
A proud 1955 graduate of McKinley Senior High School in Canton, Alanna was a devoted homemaker who lovingly raised her children. Once they were grown, she worked as a real estate agent for Marks and Taylor Realtors in Louisville, Ohio, for several years. Alanna was a faithful member of Grand Lake United Methodist Church in Celina and actively participated in the Celina Garden Club.
Alanna, a devoted animal lover, found great joy in the company of her beloved cats, Cookie and Baby. Her passions extended beyond her pets; she cherished long walks by the lake, indulged in cooking, and in earlier years, took pride in showing and breeding cats.
One of the greatest joys of her life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and she deeply valued the fellowship of her church community. Alanna was known for her quick wit, her classy demeanor, and her ability to tell a good joke. Her presence will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate to know and love her.
A memorial service celebrating Alanna's life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Grand Lake United Methodist Church, with Rev. Mick Whistler officiating. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Grand Lake United Methodist Church, 119 E Fulton St, Celina, Ohio 45822.
