Raymond Lauth
Raymond W. Lauth passed away peacefully on February 11, 2025 at home surrounded by his children after a full life. He was born on August 23, 1937 to the late W. Raymond and Ruth (May) Lauth in Spencerville, Ohio. He attended St.Marys Memorial High school graduating in 1955. He worked for the City of St.Marys and retired after 30 years of service.
Growing up he spent every free minute outside collecting arrowheads on the family farm. He loved working on the family farm with his father, which became a passion of his. His idea of time well spent was talking and spending time with his mom and dad.
On August 2, 1966, he married Sharon Hammond (deceased). They had six children together: John (Michael Thabit-Lauth) Lauth, Robert (Becky Chaney) Lauth, Paul Lauth, Scarlett (Ellen Frasure) Lauth, Kathern (Shawn) Tuttle, and Clayton (Cynthia Smith) Lauth They remained married for 34 years until Sharon's death.
Ray then started a new adventure with Linda Young. Some of their adventures included traveling to California, wading in the Pacific Ocean, going to an opera, riding a trolley car, and taking a train ride through the Great Smoky Mountains.
Ray was an avid outdoorsman. He loved being outside, whether taking walks through the woods, going fishing, enjoying a good campfire, and camping. He shared his love of the outdoors with his family, spending many weekends and vacations in nature with his family. He also loved taking his children and grandchildren on the Walk of Nature, teaching and showing them the different parts of nature.
Ray was a creative man who was a genius when working with metal. He would use parts of vehicles and put them together to build things like a one of a kind tractor, motorized bicycles, minibikes, and go karts.   In later years, he moved on to designing and building unique birdhouses. Another passion of his was dancing. He often could be found at the Eagles dancing the nights away. It can be said that he was seen dancing in the streets with his lady friends.
As time went on, he spent many days with his friends at Fort Recovery. He enjoyed the easy days selling and buying items; and the evenings sharing stories around the fire with friends.
His memory lives on with his six children, ten grandchildren: Carrie (Marcus) Neal, Paul Lauth II, Addison Lauth, Bailey Lauth, Landon Lauth, Madeline Frasure-Lauth, Gabriel Frasure-Lauth, Wyatt Tuttle, Sarah Lauth (deceased) and Spencer Lauth (deceased); six great grandchildren: Emma Neal, Ava Neal, Jack Neal, Paul Lauth III, Vivian Lauth, Shae Lauth.
