Shirley Chinn
Shirley Jeanne (Roessler) Chinn, age 85 of Lima, Ohio and formerly of Celina, Ohio passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025 at the Burton's Ridge Assisted Living in Lima. She was born on March 12, 1939 to the late Wilson Lloyd and Geneva (Massengale) Roessler in Somerset, Kentucky. On April 12, 1958 she married the love of her life for 63 years Omer William "Bill" Chinn, who died on August 25, 2021.
She is survived by her precious family Deb (Andy) Johnsman of Lima, Mike (Angie) Chinn of Wapakoneta, Pam (Ric) Limon of Rockford, seven grandchildren Dani (Pete) Andreoni of Jackson, TN, Shannon (Jessup) Ball of Waynesfield, Mitchell (Lauren) Chinn of St. Marys, Jordan (Casey) Chinn of Arkansas, Alicia (T.J.) Sprague of Wapakoneta, Matthew (Kelly) Bailey of St. Marys, Kelli (Hunter) Phelps of Nolensville, TN, and sixteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is also preceded in death by her sister Tanya Roessler and step father Al Roessler.
Shirley graduated from Western Hills High School in Cincinnati with the class of 1957, then received her bachelor's degree from Miami University in Nursing. She retired as a nurse from The Valley Nursing Home in St. Marys. She was a member of the Grace Missionary Church in Celina. Her favorite past times included Reading, Reading, Reading, watching Jeopardy and cooking.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, with Rev. Robert Swaney officiating. Burial will follow services in the Mercer Memory Gardens Cemetery in Celina.
Friends and Family may call from 5-7p.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, and an hour before services on Thursday morning, at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mercer County District Library 303 North Main Street Celina, Ohio 45822.
