Marie Humphries
Marie "Mert" Humphries, 86, of Saint Marys, died 9:17 P.M. Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital. She was born May 25, 1938, in Saint Marys, the daughter of Art and Viola (Osterfeld) Klosterman. She married John Humphries on June 28, 1958, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Saint Marys, and he preceded her in death on September 14, 2008.
She is survived by her three children: DeeAnn (Roger) Squire of Winter Garden, Florida; Terry (Jenine) Humphries of Saint Marys; Scott (Cherie) Humphries of Decatur, Alabama.
She is survived by nine grandchildren: Greg (Talia) Squire; Jessica (Marc) Remillard; Ryan (Sara) Squire; Stephanie (Jon) Kohlstedt; Nicole (Kevin) Norton; Leslie (Ryan) Durakis; Grant (Caroline) Humphries; Gannon Humphries; Garrison Humphries; by her 18 great-grandchildren: Keira; Ayden; Layla; Claire; Hunter; Collin; Maya; Jack; George; Charlotte; Charli; Tyler; Jo Lee; Piper; Zander; Finn; Maggie. She is survived by her siblings: Jeanne Boes of Columbus; Don Klosterman of Saint Marys; Barney (Carol) Klosterman of Saint Marys; Dugan (Marsha) Klosterman of Van Wert; Kay Siebert of Coldwater; Bob (Rhonda) Klosterman of Saint Marys; John (Cindy) Klosterman of Wapakoneta; Jerry (Delilah) Klosterman of Saint Marys; Richard (Catherine) Klosterman of Celina; Becky (Dennis) Link of Cincinnati; Judy (David) Fuller of Saint Marys.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and by her siblings: Betty Lengerich; Shirley Byerley; Tom Klosterman; Carrie Hawkins; Dave Klosterman; Chris Chunic.
Mert was a 1956 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School. She had been a realtor with Klosterman Realty and Baxter Realty for many years, and later was a homemaker. She sold Avon Makeup for many years and had been very active at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Saint Marys where she was a member of the Altar Sodality; served as a lay communion distributor; prepared countless funeral dinners and helped set up and run the annual Holy Rosary garage sale. She loved playing cards and going to casinos with her friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Monday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, and from 9:30-10:30 A.M. on Tuesday morning, where memorial gifts may be given to Grand Lake Hospice.
