Eli Holsinger
Eli S. Holsinger, Sr., 43, of rural St. Marys, OH died 5:10 p.m. Thursday March 27, 2025 in the emergency department of Lima Memorial Health System, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicular accident.
He was born October 30, 1981 in St. Marys, OH to John and Theresa (Ball) Holsinger.
Survivors include: wife Karita A. (McDermitt) Holsinger of St. Marys, OH; daughter Mia (Justin) Bennett of Lima, OH; daughter Kelly Holsinger of St. Marys, OH; son Eli Holsinger, Jr. of St. Marys, OH; son Tyler Holsinger of St. Marys, OH; son Carter Moss of St. Marys, OH; 2 granddaughters: Eleanor and Amillia; parents John and Theresa Holsinger of St. Marys, OH; brother Jeremiah Holsinger of St. Marys, OH; sister Misty (Jeremy) Perkins of Homer, MI; sister Annie (William Smith) Holsinger of St. Marys, OH; Parents-in-law Craig and Brenda McDermitt of St. Marys, OH; former wife Jamie Jackson of St. Marys, OH; 3 sisters-in-law : Angela (Joseph) Sullivan, Malika (James) Kobylack, Marketa McDermitt; a large extended family consisting of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
Preceded in death by: brother John S. Holsinger, Jr.
He was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School.
A veteran of the United States Army, he served as a cavalry scout during three tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. Sgt. Holsinger was awarded numerous commendations and awards, including two Purple Hearts for injuries received during battle.
His favorite pastimes included riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, fishing, and attending the numerous activities of his children. Eli truly enjoyed visiting with his family and friends and will be remembered as the "life of the party".
Funeral services are scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. Thursday April 3, 2025 at the Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West) in St. Marys. Burial, with full military honors, will follow at the Gethsemane Cemetery in St. Marys.
Visitation 3 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
