Joyce Klosterman
Joyce D. Klosterman, age 84, of Ludlow Falls, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2025, at her home. She was born July 1, 1940, in West Alexandria, Ohio, to her parents Urban J. & Bertha R. (Vogel) Naseman.
Joyce's journey began as a graduate of Coldwater High School's class of 1958, where she was known for her faith-filled heart and joyful demeanor. Following her graduation, Joyce immediately embarked on a career that exemplified her diligent work ethic, serving the community with a warm smile as a teller at Peoples Bank in Coldwater and later working in collections at DP&L. Joyce's unwavering dedication shone brightest during her over 30-year tenure as a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service, where she not only delivered mail but also kinship and care to the routes she tended.
A pivotal chapter of Joyce's life unfolded at the Carousel Supper Club in Celina, where she met her cherished husband, Gerald Edward Klosterman. The two were wed on April 8, 1967, and shared a rich life together until Gerald's passing in 1999. Joyce's love story continued with the friendships she nurtured, finding solace and adventure in travels to Alaska, Hawaii, and on many cruises with close friends and family. Her spirit of exploration also found joy in camping with her children in their younger years and creating memorable experiences with her grandchildren, such as visits to the Boonshoft Museum and Brukner Nature Center.
A longtime member of the Church of the Transfiguration in West Milton, Joyce found strength and fellowship within her church community. Her light was a beacon of hope and joy to others, reflecting her steadfast belief in a life beyond.
Today, we celebrate Joyce D. Klosterman, whose spirit enriched every life she touched. We will remember her for the joy she brought into this world and the unwavering kindness she shared with all. Her legacy endures in the hearts of those she loved and in the community that she served so selflessly.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald E. Klosterman; great-grandson Henry Jackson; brother Jack Naseman; brothers-in-law Joseph Klosterman, Peter Klosterman and Chris Reed; sister-in-law Mary Beth Pennington.
