Overnight periods of light snow accumulation, as well as patchy freezing drizzle, combined with temperatures falling into the teens and 20s, have created the potential for slick and icy conditions, primarily on untreated roadways, sidewalks and driveways. Motorists are advised to use caution, allow extra travel time and maintain increased stopping distance if traveling.

Michael Franzer
Michael Franzer, age 73, of Celina passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2025. He was born on May 11, 1952 in Coldwater to the late Bernard & Annella (Prenger) Franzer. On February 15, 1974 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater, He married Patricia (Severt) Franzer and she survives him in Celina.
Mike is also survived by children, Neal Franzer of Portland, Oregon, Greg Franzer & Christopher Casey of Houston, Texas, and Mark & Tracy Franzer of Celina, grandchildren, Paul and Luke, sibling and in-laws, Marlene & Joe Overman of Coldwater, Shirley & Roger Albers of Osgood, Mary Lou & Roger Homan of Philothea, Bill & Sandy Franzer of Carthagena, Alice Ahrens of Celina, Sharon Franzer of St. Henry, Lois & Ted Lyons of Versailles, Amy & Jerry Schlarman of New Weston, Marilyn Severt, Barb & Frank Elking, Tom & Lisa Severt, Jack & Ginny Severt all of Coldwater and Kathleen Severt of Michigan.
He was preceded in death by mother-in-law and father-in-law, Edward & Anna Marie Severt, and in-laws, Don Ahrens, Gerald Severt, and Virginia Severt.
Mike was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater. He retired from Lefeld Welding in Coldwater. He was also a member of the National Guard and Coldwater American Legion.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, June 9, 2025 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater. Friends may call from 1 PM to 4 PM on Sunday, June 8 and from 9 AM to 10 AM on Monday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater.
