Thomas Litmer
Thomas William Litmer, age 90, of St. Joe, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at his home.
He was born on July 30, 1934, in Burkettsville to the late Clarence "Jim" and Rose (Baumer) Litmer.
Tom is survived by his wife of 69 years, Eileen (Heitkamp) Litmer, whom he married on October 1, 1955; his children, Mike (Dorothy) Litmer of Fort Recovery, Kathy (Jerry) Muhlenkamp of Russia, Ed Litmer of Coldwater, Larry (Stephanie) Litmer of Fort Recovery, and Barb (Karl) Schoenherr of Fort Recovery; his 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild on the way; his siblings, Ken (Linda) Litmer of Monroe, Indiana, Ron Litmer of Fort Recovery, Lavern (June) Litmer of Miamisburg, Ohio, and Linda (Bill) Stout of St. Henry; his in-laws, Dorothy Chaney of Ft. Loramie, Wilfred (Barb) Heitkamp of St. Henry, Elmer Heitkamp of St. Anthony, Ruth Sutter of St. Henry, John (Millie) Heitkamp of Tipp City, Ron (Donna) Heitkamp of Coldwater, Ken Heitkamp of Sanford, NC, Jenny (Howard) Homan of St. Marys and Dan (Mary) Heitkamp of Coldwater; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Dolores (Jim) Fortman; his sister-in-law, Shirley Litmer; and his in-laws, Paul (Stella) Heitkamp, Julia Heitkamp, and Melvin (Evelyn) Heitkamp.
Tom worked for New Idea in Coldwater for over 15 years. He also owned and operated Tom Litmer Construction for most of his life and was known for his skillful carpentry work. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the church's men's society. In his free time, Tom enjoyed woodworking, and playing golf, horseshoes, and corn hole.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, June 23, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joe. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Guests may visit with Tom's family on Sunday, June 22, 2025, from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM and again on Monday from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at Brockman Boeckman Funeral Home.
