Arlen Fry
Arlen "Jake" Fry, 78, of St. Marys, OH died 8:25 p.m. Tuesday July 1, 2025 at Otterbein - St. Marys.
He was born April 15, 1947 in St. Marys, OH to Harold "Butch" and Helen (Elsea) Fry. On August 18, 2001 in St. Marys, OH he married Kathy Keysor, who died November 25, 2014.
Survivors include: daughter Helen (Brian) Rempe of St. Marys, OH; son Frederick (Rebekkah) Fry of New Bremen, OH; step-son Mike Link of St. Marys, OH; 5 grandchildren: Adeleine (John Corbin) Whitten, Maxwell Whitten, Zachary (Catherine Hilgefort) Fry, Lucy Whitten, Logan Rempe; brother Louie (Susan) Fry of St. Marys, OH; sister Brenda Fishbaugh of Celina, OH; sister Sandie (Jim) Wieman of Minster, OH; sister-in-law Sandra Fry of Greenville, OH; brother-in-law Dennis Wenning of Celina, OH; and former wife and mother of his children Deanna Anderson of St. Marys, OH.
Preceded in death by: parents Harold "Butch" and Helen Fry; wife Kathy Fry; brother Lee Fry; sister Tana Wenning; sister Martha Fry-Wisener; and infant brother James Fry.
He was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School (Class of 1965). A veteran of the United States Air Force, he served his country during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys, where he worked in the maintenance department for many years.
He was a member of the former Grace United Methodist Church, DAV Chapter #73, FOE Aerie #767 (Golden Eagle), and American Legion Post #323 (past commander), all in St. Marys. In addition, he coached Little League Baseball for a number of seasons. His favorite pastimes included traveling, camping (especially, at Grand Lake St. Marys) and observing the clear blue skies in the early mornings.
Jake will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his fierce pride in America and his friendly demeanor.
Rites are scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday July 15, 2025 at the Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West) in St. Marys. Burial, with military funeral honors, will follow at the Resthaven Memory Gardens near Moulton, OH.
Visitation 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
