Robert Winkeljohn
Robert "Bob" Ferdinand Winkeljohn, age 88, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025, at St. Charles Hospital in Oregon, Ohio. Born in Celina, Ohio to Ferdinand (Ferd) and Jean Winkeljohn, Bob lived a full and adventurous life marked by curiosity, service, and deep love for his family.
He served honorably in the U.S. Army and spent the rest of his professional life in sales, a career that took him and his family across the United States and even as far as Australia. His outgoing nature and passion for people made him a natural in his field and a great friend to many.
In 1957, Bob married Judy Boise, his childhood sweetheart. Bob's greatest joys came from family gatherings, spirited conversations, and sharing good food. He had an enduring love of science, a zest for life, and an adventurous palate-often bringing his enthusiasm for cuisine to the kitchen and the table. He leaves behind a family that reflects the full journey of his life-children and grandchildren who each carry a piece of his heart.
Bob is survived by his wife Judy Winkeljohn, son Chris Winkeljohn, daughter Lauren Vollinger, sister Emily Ross and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his children Greg Winkeljohn and Jennifer Smith, brother Jack Winkeljohn and sister Joan Whalen.
A private service will be held by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Bob's memory to a charity of your choice.
