NEW BREMEN - School board members during Wednesday's meeting heard renovations to the New Bremen High School offices and concessions are "99% complete."
Superintendent Jason Schrader briefed members on the projects and said the office renovation and concession projects are almost done, citing minor finishing touches left.
"It looks fantastic and I think we have a better flow of operations," he said, "It just seems so different in there. There are a few things that need to be tied up."

Furniture is scheduled to be delivered on Sept. 5 and door hardware still needs to be installed in the concession area.
In May, members approved an emergency resolution to award a $310,900 contract to Grand Lake Building Co. to demolish and renovate the areas.
"The renovations would provide designated spaces for the high school principal, school secretary, guidance counselor, athletic director, a conference room/in-school suspension and a controlled visitor access point," according to a proposal for the project.
Schrader previously said the designs follow a design similar to the current elementary offices. They include a window to the outside so the office staff can see who's coming in and out of the high school, moving the athletic director's office up to the front of the school and moving the guidance counselor's office to a more centralized location.
Opposite the guidance counselor's office will be a conference room for meetings, as well as a space for people like therapists or probation officers to meet with students, Schrader had said.
The overall goal of the project is to provide the high school with a little more security, he continued.

Just down from the offices would be the new concession stands, which was where the athletic director's office was.
Garmann Miller estimated the project would cost around $250,000, although the one bid from Grand Lake Building Co. came in higher.
The project will be paid for with permanent improvement funds, Schrader said. The general PI account has a current balance of $446,000, meaning the account would then have $135,000 after paying for the project. Anticipated 2025-2026 PI revenue would be $252,000, meaning the fund in March of 2026 would have $387,000.
Board members also:
• accepted a $7,735 donation to go toward the football coach/camp account, a $7,000 donation for the concession stand renovations and a $5,000 donation for the CBC updates.
• heard that in 2024-25, there were nine buses transporting 327 pupils per day for a daily average of 220 miles. The buses drive 53,568 miles per year, which costs $238,543.
The next board of education meeting is at 6 p.m. Sept. 17 at the high school media center.
