CELNA - A Mercer County grand jury declined Thursday to issue any indictments in the fatal shooting of 22-year-old Moses Alik of Celina by a sheriff's deputy on Dec. 31, 2024, special prosecutor Eva Yarger said in a statement.
Yarger presented the results of the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation's probe into the shooting death of Alik to the grand jury, according to a news release issued on her behalf by Mercer County Prosecutor Erin Minor. [More]
Late goal keeps Celina unbeaten in league matches

CELINA - An unbeaten Kenton team did not scare away Celina at home, as the hosts scored late to beat the Wildcats 1-0 Thursday night in Western Buckeye League boys soccer at the soccer stadium.
The first half was one dominated by the Bulldogs, as they outshot Kenton 13-5, with five of the shots being on goal. While the Wildcats did keep a clean sheet over the first 40 minutes, Celina had all the momentum heading into the break. [More]
