Mercer County Head Start programs serve children ages 3-5 who have a disability or whose families are income eligible. About 85% of parents with children in the programs are currently working. Head Start provides two meals and a snack each day, vision and hearing screenings, dental vans and mental health services and also serves as day care provider, allowing parents to go to work.
