Earl Luthman
Earl H. Luthman, age 83, formerly of Bellefontaine, passed away of natural causes Monday evening, December 22, 2025, at the Fair Haven Shelby County Home, in Sidney, Ohio. He was born July 10, 1942, in Minster, Ohio, to the late William Sr. & Dorothy (Bensman) Luthman.
Surviving are one of two children: Tony & Renee Luthman of Fort Loramie and the late Holly Miller; four grandchildren: Tyler Luthman, Katie Luthman, Logan & Whitney Miller and Autumn Miller; three great-grandchildren: Indigo, Logan Jr. and Violet Miller; three siblings: Diane & Ralph Penno of Celina, William Jr. & Rosie Luthman of Minster and John & Judy Luthman of St. Mary's; numerous nieces and nephews and a long-time friend, Nina McPhearson of Bellefontaine.
He was preceded in death by two siblings, Don & Janet D. Luthman and Judith Fronzuto as well as two brothers-in-law, Charles Fronzuto and Jim Olliges.
Mr. Luthman was a 1961 graduate of Minster High School. He went on to serve in the Army National Guard during the Vietnam protest era. In 2016, Earl retired from Village Builders and Lenhart Incorporated of Bellefontaine where he had been employed since 1993. Over the years, as a skilled machinist, carpenter, sales associate and project supervisor, Earl worked for various companies throughout Auglaize, Logan and Shelby Counties. He was a member of Indian Lake Moose Lodge #1533 (past governor) and the Indian Lake Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge #3615. In his leisure, Earl enjoyed traveling, boating on Indian Lake and woodworking. He loved to build anything from crafts to cabinets for his family and friends. He also enjoyed the Minster Oktoberfest and will be remembered as a great storyteller.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Monday, December 29, 2025, at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie with Deacon Paul Timmerman presiding. Interment will follow at St. Augustine Cemetery. Family and friends may call Monday, 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Gehret Funeral Home.
