Litten takes top honors

Versailles' senior Katey Litten (23) was selected as the Midwest Athletic Conference Girls Basketball Player of the Year on Tuesday.

Versailles senior Katey Litten received the top honor from the Midwest Athletic Conference girls basketball coaches as the MAC released its all-conference team on Tuesday.

Litten, who will play next season at Thomas More College, was selected as the Player of the Year for helping the Tigers to play for a conference title on the final night of the league season, losing to St. Henry,

The 5-8 guard was one of the top scorers in the conference this season averaging 14.3 points per game to go with four assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.9 steals per contest. Litten became the 53rd player in MAC history to reach 1,000 points for her career and is a three-time first team All-MAC honoree.

St. Henry's Nate Uhlenhake earns his third straight Coach of the Year accolade and second consecutive outright award after guiding the Redskins to a third straight conference crown and second straight outright title.
