Anthony Hardeman
Anthony James Hardeman, age 61, of St. Marys, OH passed away at 9:30 p.m. Saturday March 14, 2026 at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima, OH surrounded by family after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on October 11, 1964, in Lima, Ohio to parents Judith (Wierwille) and Jeffery Hardeman. He was a loving husband, father, "Papaw T", son, brother and friend to so many.
He was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School (Class of 1983). Following graduating, Anthony proudly served his country in the United States Army as a member of the 81st Airborne Paratroopers where he completed many jumps in and out of deployment. After his service, he went on to work for more than 30 years at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in St. Marys, remaining dedicated to his work through the many company name changes over the years.
Music was a lifelong passion for Anthony. He began performing in bands at the age of 14 and continued playing throughout his life, while also running sound for many area bands. Most recently, he performed in the band Another Round, where he had the special joy of performing alongside his wife. Over the years, he performed at many venues, including the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, sharing his love of music with countless audiences.
Above all, Anthony loved his family. He is survived by his parents Judith (Jim) Bergman of Cresson, TX, Jeffery (Vicki) Hardeman of St. Marys, OH; brothers Christopher Hardeman of Cresson, TX, Andy (Mindy) Hardeman of Val Paraiso, FL, Kurt Borger of St. Marys, OH; his loving wife Deann (Brewster) Hardeman of St. Marys, OH; his daughters, Jessica (Steve) Brown of Kossuth, OH, and Ashley Hardeman of St. Marys, OH; and his deeply loved grandchildren, Waylon, Wrenley, and Willow, along with many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind seven very loved indoor cats, and many adopted outside cats, and one guinea pig, who were always part of the family.
Anthony was greeted at heaven's gate by his brother, Eric Hardeman, along with many grandparents and friends and family who went before him. Anthony will be remembered for his strength, dedication, and the love he had for those closest to him. He never knew a stranger. His courage through illness and his commitment to family, music, and country will never be forgotten. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Rites are scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. Thursday March 19, 2026 at the Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West) in St. Marys. The Rev. Keith Stuck will officiate the services.Military funeral honors will be conducted at the funeral home following the funeral.
Visitation 1 - 3 and 5 - 8 p.m. on Wednesday and one hour prior to services on Thursday at the funeral home.
