Fort Recovery Police Department's new $17,100 SpeedAlert 24 radar message trailer, currently located on the south side of town on State Route 49, was purchased with a large donation from Win on the Wabash. While it currently serves as a speed radar, Police Chief Jared Laux said it will also be used throughout the village to display messages like "road work ahead" or "slow down." The new equipment replaced a radar trailer shared between Fort Recovery and St. Henry police departments for the last 10 years. After acquiring the new device, Laux gave St. Henry sole ownership of the previous one. In addition to the donation from WoW, the village contributed about $2,000 toward the purchase and decals from Homestretch Sportswear in St. Henry, Laux said.
