Joanne Eversman
Joanne L. Eversman, 92, of 09516 County Road 66A, New Bremen, Ohio 45869, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, May 29th, 2026.
Joanne was born on July 12, 1933, to her parents, the late Urban and Hilda (Heckman) Wint in Carthagena, OH. They preceded her in death. On Christmas Day, 1953, she married Edward L. Eversman Jr., and he preceded her in death on January 8, 1983. Joanne is now home with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her loving husband Edward (Red), grandson Dale Eversman, and other loved ones who have gone before her.
Joanne is survived by her daughter Cindy (Cynthia) Eversman of New Bremen, and her 2 sons Tom Eversman and David Eversman of New Bremen. She is also survived by a granddaughter Hayley Eversman of Minster, and by her sister Geneva Beickman of Columbus. Also, survivors include a niece Sandy (Gary) Smith, Celina, and nephews Elmer (Sue) Stachler, Celina, Carl Stachler, St. Henry, David Beickman, Columbus, and many dear friends and extended family members.
In addition to her parents, Urban and Hilda Wint, and grandson Dale Eversman, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Yvonne Post and Betty Stachler Wurster. She was also preceded by nieces, Carol Ann Stachler, Mary Jane Bueter, and nephews Maurice Stachler, Ralph Stachler, Larry Wally Post, and mother and father-in-law Viola and Edward F. Eversman.
Joanne grew up during her childhood in St. Henry, St. Sebastian, Carthegena, and Coldwater, Ohio. Joanne was a graduate of Coldwater High School and a member of the Future Homemakers of America. She was baptized at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Carthagena, and she and her sister Yvonne received their First Holy Communion together at St. Sebastian Catholic Church while living with their grandmother, Matilda Heckman.
As a young woman, she worked in a restaurant in Fort Recovery, Celina Coffee Shop, and Celina Telephone Company as a switchboard operator until her marriage in 1953. She was a homemaker until 1959 when she became a sales clerk at G.C. Murphy Department store in St. Marys for 26 years until they closed their doors in December 1985. Joanne loved working there, and was cheerful, friendly, and very helpful to her customers. She then was employed by Paris Cleaners, Laco Laundry Dry Cleaners, and for Randy Micheal's Company as an excellent seamstress.
Joanne was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, who loved her family very much. She will be remembered as a very sweet, kind, friendly, selfless, giving, and helpful lady with a wonderful sense of humor to all who knew her. She was a very hard worker, and any free time she had was spent with her family, and praying and helping others. Joanne was a true Christian, loving God, reading the Bible, memorizing verses and traveling to and attending many churches throughout her lifetime. Her favorite verses were Psalm 23 and Psalm 91. Her favorite biblical number was 9, representing: 9 Fruits of the Spirit, 9 Gifts of the Spirit, and 9 Beatitudes.
Joanne also loved wearing beautiful clothes, enjoyed going out to eat, especially Chinese food, and attending local Symphonic and Community Band Concerts with her family. At home, she enjoyed watching TV, especially "Westerns," "Little House on the Prairie," and animal and nature shows with Reggie the cat sleeping on her lap. She loved seeing roses and beautiful flowers in her garden, the birds and butterflies landing close by, and the peacock that used to visit us quite often. She enjoyed the simplest, most beautiful things in life and nature.
Visitation will take place Sunday June 21, 2026, from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 PM at Miller Funeral Home at 1605 Celina Road in St. Marys.
