Roger Albers
Roger Albers, 76, of Osgood, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at EverHeart Hospice in Greenville.
He was born on August 9, 1949 in Osgood to the late Edward & Regina (Bills) Albers. On April 12, 1980, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Carthagena, he married Shirley (Franzer) Albers who survives in Osgood.
He is also survived by his children, Tim Albers, Cory Albers & significant other, Theresa Dirksen, Jay Albers, and Ryan & Ashley Albers, all of Maria Stein, grandchildren, Cade, Greta, Fynley, Sophia, Layla, Hattie, and Palmer, siblings and in-laws, Paul & Mary Albers of Maria Stein, Don & Annie Albers of Osgood, Barb & John Sherman of Newport, Bertie Albers of Minster, Dale Goettemoeller of St. Rose, Pat Franzer of Coldwater, Marlene & Joe Overman of Coldwater, Mary Lou & Roger Homan of Philothea, Bill & Sandy Franzer of Carthagena, Alice Ahrens & Jerry Huber of Coldwater, Sharon Franzer of St. Henry, Lois & Ted Lyons of Versailles and Amy & Jerry Schlarman of New Weston.
He was preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Jenna Albers, granddaughter, Veda Albers, and siblings and in-laws, Ralph & Rosemary Albers, Rita Albers, Doris & Norbert Schemmel, Mary & Clem Poeppelman, Phyllis Poeppelman, Cy Albers, Agnes Goettemoeller, Mike Franzer and Don Ahrens.
Roger was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Osgood and the Men's Sodality. He was a 1967 graduate of Marion Local High School. Roger grew up and worked on the family farm and also worked at New Idea, Stamco, and Superior Aluminum. He enjoyed playing cards and drinking coffee at E&Rs and the Korner Kafe. Roger was an avid fan of the Marion Local Flyers and loved to support his grandchildren in their many activities. He thoroughly enjoyed vacationing and spending time with friends and family. Roger had a laid back, easy going personality, never knew a stranger and loved to "stir the pot".
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, July 28 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Osgood. Burial will follow in St. Martin's Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 PM until 7 PM on Monday and from 9 AM to 10 AM on Tuesday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to EverHeart Hospice.
