Robert Paul Caywood
Robert Paul Caywood, 55, of Celina, OH died 6:08 p.m. Sunday August 2, 2026 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, OH. He had been injured earlier that day in a motor vehicle accident which occurred in St. Marys, OH.
He was born March 29, 1971 in Celina, OH to John and Rita (Walker) Caywood.
Survivors include: significant other Dawn Brotherwood-Figel of Celina, OH; son Cordell (Torrie) Hunt of Celina, OH; daughter Serenity Grace Boyd of Dayton, OH; daughter Alicia Hill of Celina, OH; son Nathan Hill Celina, OH; son Isaiah Figel of Celina, OH; 6 grandchildren: Atticus, Iris, Atlas, Jackson, Mackenzie, Mira; brother Matt (Amy) Caywood of St. Marys, OH and their daughters Kaleigh and Jennah; several step-siblings; parents-in-law Robert (Pam) Brotherwood of St. Marys, OH; special aunt Lois (Richard) Swallow; special uncle Gene (Wilma) Caywood; and nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by: father John Caywood; mother Rita Caywood-Baker; step-brother David Young; and step-brother Tim Young.
He was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School (Class of 1989). Robert served four years in the United States Army. He worked as a forklift operator for Ryder Logistics Systems in Minster, OH.
His favorite pastimes included wrenching on vehicles, working on computers and making home improvements. He was a proud American who would do anything to help others. He will also be remembered for his kindness to children and animals.
Rites are scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. on Friday August 7, 2026 at the Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West) in St. Marys. The Rev. Tim Benjamin will officiate the services. Burial, with military funeral honors, will follow at the Resthaven Memory Gardens near Moulton, OH.
Visitation 1 - 3 and 5 - 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
