Bonnie Bruns Hogan, age 84, died on Friday, Sept. 18 in Enumclaw, Washington. Bonnie was the daughter of the late Ray and Viola Bruns. She graduated from Marion Local High School and the University of Dayton.

Bonnie married Tom Hogan in 1965. Shortly after their marriage they moved to the state of Washington. Together they had 3 children: Jim and Kim Hogan, Enumclaw, Washington; David and Robin Hogan, Seattle, Washington; and Kathy Hogan, Everett, Washington. They were also blessed with 5 grandchildren.

Bonnie's husband, Tom, passed away in 2012 after 47 years of marriage. Following the loss, Bonnie became dedicated to her community and was a diligent weekly volunteer that made delicious, hot meals for senior citizens of the area. She provided friendship to so many and with her wonderful smile and easy laugh, created a happy atmosphere for those who needed some cheer.

Along with her husband, Bonnie was also preceded in death by her brothers Jim and Chris. She is survived by her three sisters: Marge and Walt Albers, Maria Stein, Ohio; Linda Bruns, Kettering, Ohio; and Karen Bruns, Columbus, Ohio along with a great number of nieces and nephews.

Bonnie enjoyed traveling immensely. She visited many countries throughout the world with Italy always being her favorite. Learning the culture and habits of those from foreign lands fascinated her and enjoying their food and drink was a real treat. She traveled with many of her friends who found her easy-going and an exceptionally compatible travel partner.

Maintaining her beautifully landscaped yard was one of Bonnie's greatest joys. She was an expert at caring for all of her flowers and plants and was happy to provide beautiful surroundings for her neighbors and friends. She was a joyful person who enjoyed all of the beauty of the nature around her.

A Memorial Mass for Bonnie will be held for her on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Sebastian Church, St. Sebastian, Ohio.
