 Former New Knoxville resident Leonard Clausing, 95, a resident of Fairhaven Home in Upper Sandusky, died at 11:57 a.m. May 30, 2003, at the Wyandot Memorial Hospital in Upper Sandusky.
 Funeral arrangements are pending at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen.

Elizabeth Dew
 Elizabeth Dew, 76, 309 North Front St., St. Marys, died May 29, 2003, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
 She was born Oct. 18, 1926, in Auglaize County to Emil and Celia Althoff Schwede. On June 5, 1971, she married Floyd Dew who survives.
 Surviving is a sister-in-law, Reba (George) Barbier of Elida.
 She was retired from working at Norgas and Joint Township District Memorial Hospital.
 Services are 2 p.m. Monday at Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Patricia Minnick officiating. Burial will follow at German Protestant Cemetery in New Bremen.

Robert Donovan
 Robert Donovan, 68, 3325 Celina Road, St. Marys, died at 5 a.m. May 30, 2002, at his residence of an apparent heart attack.
 He was born Dec. 2, 1934, in Mercer County. On May 14, 1953, he married Mildred Jane Miller, who survives.
 Also surviving are two daughters, Debra Sudman and Peggy (Don) Kruse, all of St. Marys; two sons, Dennis (Cheryl) and Robert (Theresa), all of St. Marys; his mother, Ruth Chaney of Mendon; two brothers, Bill and Joe Chaney, both of Mendon; a sister, Carolyn Drake of Montezuma; three grandchildren and one step grandchild.
 Deceased is a brother, Junior Chaney.
 He was retired from working in the maintenance department at Hayes-Albion Corp. in Spencerville. He also farmed and owned Donovanís Auto Wrecking.
 Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home in St. Marys, the Rev. Herb Berry officiating. Burial will follow at Mendon Cemetery.

Bruce Vogan
 Bruce A. Vogan, 46, 120 Bayview Drive, Celina, died at 3:22 p.m. May 30, 2003, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys, due to an illness.
 He was born July 15, 1956, in St. Marys to Adam and Carol Greber Vogan. His father is deceased and his mother survives in Tuscon, Ariz. He married Regina Fawbush, who is deceased.
 Survivors include live-in companion, Cynthia Vogan; four sons, Bruce Jr. (Bev) of Rockford, Alex (Jennifer) of Celina and Patrick and Gregory, at home; three daughters, Amber Knous, St. Marys, Candy (Toby) Parker, Celina, and Carla, at home; two brothers, Vernon (Chris) Silver, St. Marys, and Thomas (Dorothy) of Celina; two sisters, Anna Diedrich, Rockford, and Virginia (Jim) Hinkle of Tuscon; and two grandchildren.
 Deceased is a son, Eric, and a brother, Jack.
 He was a self-employed truck driver and owned Granddad Trucking Company. He was a member of Barbarians Motorcycle Club.
 Services are 10 a.m. Monday at Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Patricia Minnick officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.

Jack Vogan
 Jack Edward Vogan, 58, 6010 U.S. 33, Mendon, died at 2 p.m. May 29, 2003, at St. Ritaís Medical Center, Lima, following an extended illness.
 He was born March 11, 1945, in New Bremen, to Adam and Carol Greber Vogan. His father is deceased and is mother survives in Tuscon, Ariz. On April 29, 1965, he married Helga Rink, who survives.
 Other survivors are three daughters, Diana (Tim) Staley, Neptune, Peggy Luedeke, St. Marys, and Melissa Link, Celina; and a son, Adam (Melissa) of Hume.
 He worked as a meat cutter at Wagnerís IGA in Minster and at Coppess Foods. He served in Germany with the United States Army.
 Services are at 11 a.m. Monday at Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Patricia Minnick officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys,

Scott Adams
 Scott L. Adams, 32, 2117 St. Anthony Rd., died May 24, 2003, in Pacific Alliance Medical Center, California, following an extended illness.
 He was born Feb. 7, 1971, in Celina, to Allan and Janet (Peters) Adams, who survive.
 Also surviving are: three brothers, Gregg (Dawn), of Celina, Mark, of Beavercreek, and Matt, of Coldwater; three sisters Diann Adams, Cincinnati, Jill (Bill) Schwieterman and Kelly Adams, Coldwater; grandmothers, Mildred Peters and Florence Adams, Celina; two nieces and a nephew.
 A woodworker, he helped with farming operations. He was a member of Grace Missionary Church, Celina, and Mercer County Farm Bureau. He was a former member of 4-H and FFA.
 Services are 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the church, the Rev. Steve Howell officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paulís Lutheran Cemetery.
 Calling hours are 2-8 p.m. Saturday at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina.

James Irish
 James Franklin ìFrankî Irish, 46, died unexpectedly at 3:30 a.m. May 29, 2003, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys. An autopsy is pending to determine the cause of death.
 He was born Dec. 29, 1956, in St. Marys to Charles Irish Sr. and Mary Ellen (Hagaman) Hines. His father died June 15, 1980. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Robert Hines, Celina.
 On Oct. 22, 1977, he married Candy J. Davis who also survives.
 Other survivors are two daughters, Nicky Jo (Clay) Crain, Celina, and Jamie Jo Irish, at home; a brother, Charles Irish Jr., Coldwater; three stepbrothers, Scott Hines, Gary Hines and Rob (Anita) Hines, all of Celina; four stepsisters, Cathy Phillips, Celina, Candy (Kelly) Hire, Van Wert, Connie Harter, Coldwater, and Karen (Kevin) Knoth, Coldwater; and two grandsons.
 He was self-employed in construction and was a driver for the Amish.
 He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Marys, and a member of VFW post 5713, Moose Lodge 1473 and had been in the National Guard.
 Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Richard R. Riedel officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
 Calling is 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Kathryn Bishir
 Kathryn Carol Bishir, the daughter of Darl and Kathleen Lukac Bishir, 628 W. North St., St. Marys, was stillborn at 3:30 a.m. May 17, 2003, at University Hospital, Columbus.
 Survivors are a sister, Samantha at home; paternal grandparents, Philip and Carol Bishir, Marion, Ind., and maternal grandparents, Daniel and Marilyn of Canal Fulton.
 She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, St. Marys.
 Graveside services are 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys, the Rev. Herb Berry officiating.

Melvin Heidt
 Melvin L. Heidt, 73, 330 Sturgeon St., St. Marys, died at 6:32 p.m. May 28, 2003, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys, following an extended illness.
 He was born April 3, 1930, in St. Marys, to Henry and Lydia Schrolucke Heidt. On Sept. 9, 1951, he married Dorothy Nuse who survives.
 Other survivors are a daughter, Deborah (James) Heintz, Washington Township; three brothers, Vernon (Madella) of New Knoxville, Kermit (Virginia) of Lima, and Donald (Carol) of St. Marys; a sister, Grace Klopfenstein, New Bremen; and a granddaughter.
 He was a retired machinist from Stamco, New Bremen. The U.S. Army veteran was a member of St. Paulís United Church of Christ, St. Marys, and a member of the church choir. He served as a board member of Agape Ministries, St. Marys, and was a member of the Sound Waves Barber Shop Chorus.
 Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Patricia Minnick officiating. Burial is at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
 Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Leo Rosenbeck
 Leo Rosenbeck, 83, West Elizabeth St., Coldwater, died at 11:15 a.m. May 28, 2003, at St. Ritaís Medical Center, Lima.
 He was born Aug. 16, 1919, in Coldwater, to William and Rosa Selhorst Rosenbeck. On Oct. 26, 1948, he married Victoria Link who survives.
 Other survivors are three sons, Gary (Hally) of Sherwood, Wis., Dennis (Rosalie) of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Scott (Angie) of Jackson, Mich.; two daughters, Cheryl (Gene) Goodwin, St. Marys, and Judy (Greg) Popovich, Batavia, Ill.; two sisters-in-law, Esther and Rosemary, both of Coldwater; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
 Deceased are three brothers, Leonard, Ferd and Clarence; and three sisters, Pauline Gerlach, Mildred Hausfeld and Veronica Hilgeford.
 He was a tool and die designer and the former owner of Coldwater Machine & Tool. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he served as a sergeant in the 37th division in the Pacific Conflict and received a purple heart citation. He was a member of Amvets post 91, Celina, past commander of American Legion post 470 and life member and past commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars post 5135, both of Coldwater. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, and its menís Holy Name Society.
 Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev.  Ronald Wilker officiating. Burial is at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater, where Coldwater V.F.W. and American Legion posts will conduct military services.
 Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday and 9-9:45 a.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.

Leona Berning
 Leona C. Berning, 95, 172 S. Hanover St., Minster, died at 9 p.m. May 26, 2003, at Heritage Manor Nursing Center, Minster.
 She was born June 18, 1907, in Fort Loramie, to Joseph and Josephine Pleiman Gaier. On May 9, 1934, she married Charles H. Berning who died May 12, 1994.
 Surviving are two sons, Charles (Susannah) of San Diego, Calif., and Vernon (Suzanne) Berning, Sidney; two daughters, Dorothy Stukenborg, Minster, and Ann Wise, Sidney; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
 Two brothers and three sisters are deceased.
 She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and the Ladies Sodality, both of Newport.
 Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Anthony Cutcher officiating. Burial will be at Shelby Memory Gardens near Sidney.
 Calling is 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, and after 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church.

Mildred Ross
 Former Mercer County resident Mildred Evelyn Ross, 89, 1555 W. Main St., Frankfort, Ind., died at 11:40 a.m. May 25, 2003, at Wesley Manor Retirement Community, Frankfort.
 She was born Dec. 30, 1913, in Elyria, to Miles Arthur and Mabel Grace Colburn Harris. On June 25, 1938, she married John W. Ross who survives.
 Also surviving are two sons, John A. of Erie, Pa., and James of St. Henry; a daughter, Barbara (Harold O.) Kinsler, Frankfort; a sister, Ruby (John F.) Hegele, Bedford; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
 She taught fifth and sixth grades in Bedford and worked as a receptionist, secretary, bookkeeper, kennel employee and surgical assistant at her husbandís animal hospitals. She also transcribed childrenís books into Braille.
 A 1931 graduate of Ellenwood Schools and a 1936 graduate of Ohio State University, she was a former member of Townville First Baptist Church, where she served as choir director and organist, and the American Association of University Women. She also was a member of St. Paulís United Methodist Church, Martha Circle and the Altrurian Club, all of Celina, the Ohio State Alumni Association of Mercer County, the St. Henry Hospital Auxiliary and the St. Henry Library Board. She also sang soprano in the Celina Community Chorus and played flute in the Celina Community Band.
 Services are 3 p.m. Saturday at Amanda Reid Memorial Chapel at Wesley Manor, the Revs. Barbara Kinsler and Donald Weaver officiating. Private burial services will be at Buntin Cemetery.
 Calling is 3-4 p.m. Saturday at the chapel.
 Contributions can be made to the Good Samaritan Fund at Wesley Manor.

 Nadine J. Flack, 74, 405 Huffman St., St. Marys, died at 10:10 p.m. May 25, 2003, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
 She was born Feb. 14, 1929, in St. Marys, to Henry and Aline Holtzauer Scheer. On May 15, 1948, she married Philip Flack who died Nov. 16, 1991.
 Surviving are four daughters, Lucinda (Cletis) Tuttle, Moreno Valley, Calif., Charlotte (Terry) Davis, Sue (Terry) Ballweg and Mary Catherine (Larry) Chaney, all of St. Marys; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
 A brother, Norman Scheer, and a sister, Janet Butch, are deceased.
 She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Marys.
 Private services will be at Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. David Heinl officiating. Burial will be at Gethsemane Cemetery, St. Marys.

Jacob Holthaus
 Jacob Victor Holthaus, infant son of Randall and Mary Wynk Holthaus, Basinburg Road, Fort Loramie, was stillborn at 11:32 p.m. May 24, 2003, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
 Surviving with the parents are a brother, Nathan, and a sister, Heather, both at home; maternal grandmother, Rita Wynk, Carthagena; paternal grandparents, Anthony and Roseann Holthaus, Fort Loramie; and a great-grandmother, Mildred Wendel, Wendelin.
 A grandfather, Robert Wynk, is deceased.
 The family are members of St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie.
 Private graveside services will be at the convenience of the family at St. Michaelís Cemetery, Fort Loramie, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating.

Paul Luebke
 Paul H. Luebke, 67, 1009 St. Johns Road, Maria Stein, died at 7:20 a.m. May 25, 2003, at Community Hospital, Coldwater.
 He was born April 21, 1936, in  Maria Stein, to Fred and Helen Walterbusch Luebke. On Nov. 24, 1955, he married Della Mae Stammen who survives.
 Also surviving are five sons, Randy (Sue) of New Bremen, Mike (Linda) of Bellefontaine, Rick (Sharon) and John (Renee) of Coldwater, and Tim (Cindy) of Celina; three daughters, Bonnie (Nick) Stucke, Mason, Joyce (Joe) Selzer, Versailles, and Pam (Greg) Koehl, Coldwater; and 19 grandchildren.
 Other survivors include two brothers, Al (Maryann) of Celina and Lawrence (Rosalie) of Minster; four sisters, Luetta Schemmel, a resident of the Otterbein Retirement Community, St. Marys,  Marie Wente, New Bremen, Irene (Tom) Woehrmyer, Minster, and Janet (Lee) Moeder, Maria Stein; and a sister-in-law, Joann Luebke, Fort Loramie.
 Deceased are a brother, Greg, and two brothers-in-law, Larry Schemmel and Leo Wente.
 He was employed as a mason with Bernard Masonry Contractors, Maria Stein. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Maria Stein, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1391, Minster, and the Chickasaw Horseshoe Club.
 Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Kenneth Schroeder officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mary Leason
 Mary Catherine Leason, 92, died May 21, 2003, at Heritage Park Health Care Center, Fort Wayne, Ind., where she resided.
 She was born in Milford, Ind. She was married to Martin J. Leason who died in 1992.
 Survivors are a son, Lee of Lutz, Fla.; two daughters, Charlene and Kay, both of Fort Wayne; two brothers, Paul Schowalter, Warsaw, Ind., and Virgil Schowalter, Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and several other relatives residing in Mercer County.
 Deceased are two brothers, Kenneth Schowalter and Cloice Schowalter; and two sisters, Violet Gantt and Virginia Snyder.
 She was a cafeteria server at Parkview Hospital and previously worked at Grants Dept. Store, both of Fort Wayne. She was a Sunday school teacher at First Church of the Nazarene and Lilly Street Church of the Nazarene, and teacher and member of Lake Avenue Church of the Nazarene, all of Fort Wayne.
 Services are 4 p.m. Sunday at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, Fort Wayne. Burial is at Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne.

Ralph Fleck
 Ralph E. Fleck, 86, 9094 Ohio 197, Celina, died at 6:45 p.m. May 22, 2003, at his residence.
 He was born May 11, 1917, in Celina, to Edward and Mary Garman Fleck. On April 15, 1941, he married Betty J. Runkel who survives.
 Also surviving are a son, Ralph Jr. (Susan) of Carrollton, Ga.; four daughters, Mary Sanders, Celina, Sally (Wayne) Fickert, Rockford, Judith McIntosh, Fairfield, and Linda (Jerry) Williams, West Alexandria; two sisters-in-law, Rosie and Patty Fleck, Celina; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
 Deceased are a son-in-law, Jay Sanders; three brothers, Gerald, Harold and Steve; a sister, Madonna; and a great-grandchild.
 He retired as a boiler engineer at Mersmanís in 1972 and also retired from farming. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina.
 Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Richard Riedel officiating. Burial will be at North Grove Cemetery.
 Calling is after 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Marjorie J. McWhorter
 Marjorie J. McWhorter, 73, of Celina, died at 12:25 a.m. May 15, 2003, at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
 She was born Sept. 21, 1929, in Dayton, to Clarence and Beatrice Stein Wolff. On Jan. 12, 1952, she married James W. McWhorter who survives in Celina.
 Also surviving are a son, James G. (Carol) of Jamestown; a daughter, Paula (Robert) Newton, Lima; two brothers, Harold (Mary) Wolff, Lima, and James (Kathryn) Wolff, St. Cloud, Fla.; two sisters-in-law, Agnes Wolff, St., Cridersville, and LaRose Theis, Lafayette; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
 Deceased are a son, David L. Meihls; two brothers, John and Paul Wolff; and a sister, Frances Joann Wolff.
 She was a homemaker and a former clerk at Sears. She was a member of St. Mathew Lutheran Church, Cridersville, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary 1275, Lima, and the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, Columbus.
 Services and burial took place in Cridersville.

Audrie Myers
 Audrie Leona High White Myers, 98, formerly of Willshire, died at 7:30 p.m. May 21, 2003, at Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford.
 She was born Jan. 20, 1905, in Mercer County, to James F. and Mary Felver Book. Her first husband, Doyt High, died in 1925 and her second husband, Hershel Ernest White, died June 9, 1959. She later married John Myers who died in 1997.
 Surviving are two sons, Jerry (Wilma) White, Van Wert, and Dennis White, Kendallville, Ind.; a stepson, Terry Myers, York, Pa.; a sister, Dolores Reichard, Rockford; 12 grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, three stepgreat-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
 Deceased are a son, Colin Blaine High; a stepdaughter, Jackie Thompson; and two sisters, Lois Merriman and Ola Leah Book.
 She was a homemaker and a member of the former Albion Evangelical United Brethren Church. She attended Willshire United Methodist Church.
 Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.

Charles Brown
 Charles J. Brown, 51, 203 Covington St., Ansonia, died May 19, 2003, at Wayne Hospital, Greenville. Death was due to natural causes.
 He was born Dec. 16, 1951, in Union City, Ind., to K.C. and Lucille Osterloh Brown. The mother and stepfather, Lucille and George Schott, survive in Paulding. His wife, the former Betty Wolfe, also survives.
 Other survivors include four sons, William of Celina, Jason W. of Greenville, James M. of Covington, Ky., and Jerry R. of Ansonia; a daughter, Tiffany Brown, Dayton, Ky.; two stepbrothers, Mathew and James Schott, both of Coldwater; and five grandchildren.
 A brother, G.R., is deceased.
 He was employed as a welder at Elite Enclosures, Fort Loramie.
 There is no public service or calling.

William McIntyre
 Former Celina resident William ìVernonî McIntyre, 84, of Knoxville, Tenn., died May 19, 2003, in Knoxville.
 He was born June 13, 1918, in Levi, Ky., to Fred and Cynthia Hall McIntyre. His wife, the former Nellie Colwell, survives.
 Also surviving are four sons, Don (Cherie) of Wapakoneta, Lester (Sandy) of Decatur, Ind., Ken (Deb) of Ocala, Fla., and Greg of Knoxville; two brothers, Fred (Charlene) of Cincinnati and Charles of Hamilton; two sisters, Eula Holland, Hamilton, and Shirley Evans, Louisville, Ky.; 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

 He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., St. Marys, and later worked for Blue Diamond Coal Company in southeastern Kentucky. He served in the armed forces during World War II and was a charter member of Middlesboro Highway Church of God in LaFollette, Tenn.

 She was born Oct. 26, 2002, in Coldwater.
 Surviving with the parents are a brother, Austin, and two sisters, Audrey and Lauren, all at home; maternal grandparents, Henry and Bernice Albers, McCartyville; paternal grandparents, Tom and Bernice Barhorst, also of McCartyville; and great-grandparents, Eugene and Josephine Dirksen, Maria Stein.

 He was a mechanic and former employee of NAPA Portland Motor Parts. He was a member of the Berne Indiana Lions Club and the Portland Reserve Police Department.

Rev. Aloysius Friedrich
 The Rev. Aloysius Friedrich, 96, the oldest member of the Cincinnati Province of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood, died at 6:05 p.m. May 16, 2003, at St. Charles Center, Carthagena.
 He was born Sept. 11, 1906, in Parkston, S.D., to Martin and Anne Friedrich.
 Surviving are two sisters, Frances Hehn, Jackson, Minn., and Celestine Usher, Mitchell, S.D., and a half brother, James of California.
 He worked on a railroad section gang prior to entering the Missionaries of the Precious Blood in September 1927 and was ordained May 10, 1936.
 He spent most of his years in parish ministry serving as assistant pastor at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Glandorf and St. Mary Catholic Church in Piqua before being named pastor of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament in Cleveland. In 1948, he was appointed assistant pastor of Precious Blood Church in Fort Wayne, Ind., and in 1950, he was named pastor of St. Anthony Church in Liberal, Kansas, where he oversaw building of the church. In 1958, he returned to Glandorf, where he remained until assuming the pastorate of St. Sebastian Church in Mercer County in 1968. He retired to St. Charles in July 1979.
 Funeral Mass is 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Charles, the Rev. Kenneth Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow in the community cemetery.

 He was born March 30, 1917, in St. Marys, to Leonard and Jennie Mabel Bevington Meyers. His first wife, Verna Tebbe, and his second wife, Rose Hawkins, are deceased. In 1996, he married June Howell Huey who survives.
 Also surviving are a daughter, Mary Meyers, and her husband, Bill Samuel, San Diego, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Jean Drees; and a granddaughter.
 Deceased are three brothers, Bernard, Don and Clarence.
 He worked at Bendix Corp. during World War II and later worked as a pharmaceutical representative for the William S. Merrill Co. He was a 1935 graduate of Memorial High School in St. Marys, and later attended business school in Chillicothe, Mo.
 He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, St. Marys, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Wapakoneta.
 Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Herb Berry officiating. Burial will be at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.

 She was born April 25, 1923, in Montezuma, to Bernard and Josephine Schroer Wynk. On Jan. 5, 1944, she married Frederick W. Moeller who died in 1990.
 Surviving are three sons, Francis (Debbie) of Springfield, Va., Dennis (Marlene) and Michael (Eileen), both of Coldwater; three daughters, Kathy (John) Chappie and Phyllis Brown, both of Celina, and Kathy (Paul) Grisez, Anna; two sisters, Catherine Grieshop and Josephine Black, both of Coldwater; 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, two stepgreat-grandchildren and three stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
 Deceased are a son, Timothy; a son-in-law, Dave Brown; five brothers and three sisters.
 She retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., St. Marys, after 17 years of service. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Montezuma, where she had been a CCD coordinator and teacher for 21 years, and the Christian Motherís Sodality of the church.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Bluffton.
 He attended Indiana Barber College in Indianapolis and Indiana University-Purdue University in Fort Wayne.

 He was born June 12, 1922, in Celina, to John F. and Bess Pumphrey Lincoln. On June 9, 1947, he married Elizabeth R. Robinson who survives.
 Also surviving are a son, John (Cindy) of Naperville, Ill.; four daughters, Cindy Lincoln and husband Brian Keegan, Lima, Kathy Lincoln and husband Tom Tomczyk and Debbie Lincoln and husband Dan Kennedy, all of Salem, Ore., and Betsy Lincoln-Shangle, Burr Ridge, Ill.; a brother, Lowell of Tempe, Ariz.; and 10 grandchildren.
 A sister, Vivian Saber, is deceased.
 He worked in quality control at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in St. Marys for 18 years and retired from Motor Wheel, a division of Goodyear, in Michigan. He served as mayor of Celina for four years in the 1960s and served on city council for eight years during the 1950s. He was a former member of St. Paulís United Methodist Church, Celina.

 Former Celina resident Martha Gaw Dinkel, 50, of Cincinnati, died May 12, 2003, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati. Death was due to natural causes.
 She was born Feb. 11, 1953, in Garrett, Ind., to George and Dorris Gaw. On June 21, 1980, she married the Rev. James R. Dinkel who survives.
 Also surviving are a son, Stephen James of Cincinnati, and a brother, David Gaw of Orlando, Fla.
 Deceased are a son, Jesse Carley, and a brother, Stephen Gaw.
 She was an early intervention specialist for the Hamilton County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disability. She previously worked for the Montgomery County Board of MR/DD as a classroom teacher, the Logan County Board of MR/DD as a preschool teacher and the Clermont County Board of MR/DD.
 A 1971 graduate of Celina High School, she received a bachelor of science degree in social work from Wright State University in 1975. She was a member of All Saints Lutheran Church in Cincinnati, where she was a bell choir member and taught catechism. She was a committee member for Boy Scout Troop 867 and worked with Dan Beard Council.
 Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Cincinnati. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Galion.

 She was born Jan. 1, 1929, in Dayton, to Ray and Edith Martz Runyon. Her husband, Dr. Max Johnson, died in 1996.
 Surviving are four sons, Gregory and Wade, both of Chicago, Ill., and Christopher and Steve, both of Newman; a daughter, Phyllis Johnson, also of Newman; two sisters, Ruth Smelser, Celina, and Alice Brewer, Mesa, Ariz.; a half sister, Hazel Huff, Wilmington; 8 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
 Two sisters and four half brothers are deceased.
 She had worked as a nurse in her husbandís medical practice.

 Betty Dean Mihm, 76, of Rockford, died at 8 a.m. May 12, 2003, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind.
 She was born July 3, 1926, in Mercer County, to Dillon and Goldie Watkins Jordan. On Oct. 12, 1946, she married Ernest Mihm who survives.
 Also surviving are two daughters, Diane (Dave Jr.) Sheets, Mendon, and Elaine (Jim) Geyer, Gallaway; and a grandson.
 She was a homemaker and a member of Rockford United Methodist Church, the Womenís Organization of the church and the Order of Eastern Star.

 Wolfgang Vogel, 62, of Celina, died May 10, 2003, at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, Nev., following a heart attack.
 He was born March 26, 1941, in Frankfurt, Germany, to Petko and Elizabeth Chorev. He immigrated to Chicago, Ill., at the age of 18.
 Surviving with Carol, his wife of 39 years, are two sons, Ken (Lisa) Ashley and Alex (Julie) Vogel; a daughter, Heidi Teeters; a brother, Carl of Germany; two sisters, Maryann Desch, also of Germany, and Lottie McClean, Springfield, Ill.
 He retired from Huffy after 20 years of service and had worked as a professional meat cutter. He played competitive soccer, ice hockey and softball in his younger years.
 In lieu of a memorial service, a picnic for family and friends will be held in his honor at the home of a sister-in-law, Teresa Klosterman.

 He had been employed by the City of Celina and owned and operated Kohns News Agency for 30 years. He served in the U.S. Navy Seabees during World War II and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, American Legion Post 210, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5713 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1291, all of Celina.

 He was born Jan. 3, 1926, in Botkins, to Dr. Max and Josephine Middendorf Wiest.
 Surviving are two sisters, Marjorie Young, Centerville, and Marilyn (Gifford) Solem, Miamisburg; and a sister-in-law, Betty Wiest, Bushnell, Ill.
 Deceased are three brothers, Urban, Vernon and Harold, and a sister, Dorothy.
 He was the former owner of Home Service Dry Cleaners in Minster and Botkins. A U.S. Navy veteran, he served as a cook aboard ship during World War II. He was a 1944 graduate of Botkins High School and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Botkins, where he was a Mass coordinator and altar server. He also cared for the church yard and cemetery over the years.

 Surviving are two daughters, Janet (William) Suchland, Trotwood, and Cecelia (Robert) Anderson Carvalho, Columbus; two sisters, Virginia Thomas and Fairie Driscoll-Koehl, both of Kenton; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
 Deceased are a son-in-law, Robert Anderson; five brothers, Arthur, Bryan, Norman, Harold and Paul Weber; and five sisters, Ruth Yoakum, Nourma Binkley, Ina White, Estella Flescher and Esther Hissong.
 She retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in St. Marys and she and her husband formerly owned and operated Pollyís Cottages on Orchard Island at Indian Lake. A homemaker and a Dola High School graduate, she was a member of Wayne Street United Methodist Church, St. Marys.

 She was born Dec. 3, 1936, in Lima, to Clarence and Agnes Walters Spencer. On Dec. 11, 1954, she married Edward Grant who survives.

(Margaret) of Covington; two daughters, Kathleen (John) Ventura and Shirley, both of Sidney; five brothers, Al of Russia, Herman (Alma) of Fort Loramie, Jerry (Connie) of Sidney, Carl (Linda) and Paul (Mary Jean) both of Versailles; a sister, Alfreda (Eugene) Guggenbiller, St. Henry; and 16 grandchildren.
 A sister, Irene, is deceased.
 He retired from dairy farming in 2001 and worked at New Idea in Coldwater for 17 years. He was a member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Newport, where he sang in the choir for 41 years. He was a member of the Meyer Wedding Band,  playing guitar and called square dances for nearly 20 years.

 She was born June 6, 1975, in Coldwater, to James and Melanie May Langenkamp. They survive in Celina. Her husband, Gregory Allen Parks, survives in Portland, Ind.
 Also surviving are two sons, Devon James and Peyton Lee, and a daughter, Mackenzie Lynn, all of Portland; and a brother, Andy Langenkamp, Celina.
 She was an employee of Union City Body Co. and a member of Erastus Fort Recovery United Methodist Church.

 She was born Sept. 4, 1948, in Celina, to Harold and Helen Elsea Fry. Her father survives in St. Marys. On July 7, 1972, she married Dennis Wenning who survives.

 Vera E. Ahlden, 91, of McHenry, Ill., died at 11:15 p.m. May 1, 2003, at Briarwood Manor Nursing Home, Coldwater.
 She was born April 8, 1912, in Buckley, Minn., to Hid Beckman and his wife, whose maiden name was Henikey. Her husband, Rudolf Ahlden, died Jan. 9, 1967.
 Surviving are a son, Ardell of McHenry; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
 She was a housewife and member of St. Paulís Lutheran Church in Woodworth, Ill.
 Graveside services are 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church in Illinois, the Rev. James Ritter officiating.
 Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, has charge of local arrangements.

Carl Sell
 Carl A. Sell, 85, of Rockford died at 5 p.m. May 1, 2003, at his residence.
 He was born Aug. 11, 1917, in Dublin Township, to Samuel O. and Zelma Boice Sell. On May 3, 1942, he married Martha A. Akom who died March 24, 1950. On June 6, 1951, he married Pauline L. Book who survives.
 Also surviving are four sons, Larry (Theresa) of Bluffton, Ind., Dr. Jerry (Connie) of Rockford, Roger of Willshire, and Kenneth (Soon-ni) of Orange Park, Fla.; two brothers, Lowell (Martha) of Wapakoneta and Paul (Betty) of Bluffton, Ind.; a sister, Ruth Smith, Georgia; nine grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
 A brother, Robert, and a sister, Wanna, are deceased.
 He worked as a shop foreman, mechanic and salesman for the Ford Motor Co. Tractor & Implement Division; owned and operated a farm equipment dealership; and managed Ridgeway Motel in Van Wert and Western 6 Motel in Tempe, Ariz. He also worked six years as a desk clerk and as an accounting clerk for Fred Harvey at Grand Canyon, Ariz. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
 A Rockford High School graduate, he obtained additional training at the Ford Motor Co. School and Universal Motel Schools, Miami Beach, Fla. He was a  member of Otterbein United Brethren Church (now New Horizons Community Church), Rockford, and the Auglaize County Sheriffís Auxiliary. He also was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5713, Celina, and a former member of Ohio Flying Farmers.
 Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Robert Loar officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City.
 Calling is 2-8 p.m. Sunday and after 9:30 a.m. Monday at the church.
 Contributions can be made to Camp Cotubic in Bellefontaine or WTLW-TV (Channel 44) in Lima.

Alice Brunswick
 Mercer County native Alice Ann Brunswick, 70, formerly of Egypt, died at 3 a.m. May 2, 2003, at Eaglewood Care Center, Carey.
 She was born April 18, 1933, in Mercer County, to Ferd and Frances Heitbrink Brunswick.
 Surviving are two brothers, Donald of Spencerville, and Mark of Venice, Fla.; two sisters, Norma (Elmer) Meyer, McCartyville, and Iona (Paul) Gariety, Russia; and a sister-in-law, Mary Catherine Brunswick, Minster.
 One brother, Connie, is deceased.
 She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Egypt.
 Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Louis Schmit officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
 Calling is 2-5 p.m. Sunday and 9-9:30 a.m. Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.

Clarence J. Lochtefeld
Clarence J. Lochtefeld, 80, 2608 Homan Road, Maria Stein, died at 12:18 a.m. May 2, 2003, at Community Hospital, Coldwater.
 He was born Sept. 11, 1922, in Maria Stein, to Joseph and Rosa (Luttmer) Lochtefeld. On Aug. 3, 1949, he married Alvina Heitkamp, who survives.
 Also surviving are a son, Kenneth (Tammy) Lochtefeld of Belle Center; a daughter, Mary (Theodore) Tumbusch of Minster; two brothers, Roman (Bernie) Lochtefeld of St. Henry, Arthur (Irene) Lochtefeld of Yorkshire; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
 Two brothers and one sister are deceased.
 He was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, the Menís Society of the Church, the Knights of St. John in Maria Stein, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Coldwater.
 He was a retired a farmer.
 Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Kenneth Schroeder officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
 Calling is 2 to 8 p.m. Monday and 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Minster.

 Bradley and Abigail Faber, infant children of State Rep. Keith and Andrea Bassitt Faber of Celina, died shortly after birth April 29, 2003, at the Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus.
 Surviving with the parents are maternal grandparents, Sam and Barbara Bassitt, Lima; and paternal grandparents, Joe and Ann Faber, Missouri, and Pat and Elton Wagner, Florida.
 Private graveside services will be at Lafayette Cemetery, the Rev. Douglas Meyer officiating.

Carl Bartenstein
 Carl W. Bartenstein, 84, 15800 Ohio 29, Anna, died at 2:20 a.m. April 30, 2003, at Riverside Hospital, Columbus.
 He was born July 2, 1918, in Shelby County, to Christian and Caroline Kipp Bartenstein. On Dec. 29, 1958, he married Dolores J. Wellington who died Dec. 13, 1999.
 Surviving are a stepson, David (Kathryn) Mallow, Botkins; a sister, Mildred (Emerson) Eubank, Dayton; and four stepgrandchildren.
 He retired from farming in 1985 and volunteered as a reading assistant in the Anna School District. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, Kettlersville, and Heiland American Legion Post 446, Anna. He was a former member of the Shelby County Farm Bureau.
 Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, the Rev. James Melter officiating. Burial will be at Shelby Memory Gardens.
 Calling is 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Elmer Brandon
 Elmer Brandon, 87, of Celina, died at 7:45 a.m. April 28, 2003, at Community Hospital, Coldwater.
 He was born Aug. 7, 1915, to J. Van and Mary S. Cook Brandon. On July 15, 1939, he married Esther L. Eichenauer who died Sept. 17, 1989.
 Surviving are two daughters, Linda (Gene) Miller, Van Wert, and Rita (Dave) Suhr, Celina; a brother-in-law, H. Stanley (Shomey) Eichenauer, Dayton; two sisters-in-law, Sally Eichenauer and Carolyn Brandon, both of Celina; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
 Two brothers, Olen and Dale, are deceased.
 He retired from New Idea in Coldwater on May 1, 1981. He was a member of Beaver Chapel Congregational Christian Church and the Durbin Bean Bake Committee.
 Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Verl Ballmer officiating. Burial will be at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
 Calling is 3-8 p.m. Friday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, and after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Mary Grapner
 Former Mercer County resident Mary Margaret Grapner, 89, of Portland, Ind., died April 30, 2003, at Americare Living Center in Portland.
 She was born Aug. 28, 1913, in Rockford, to Samuel and Florence Sapp Tucker. On Aug. 14, 1934, she married Lloyd Grapner who died April 13, 1989.
 Surviving are a son, Ralph L. (Rosemarie) of Portland; two daughters, Donna J. (Don) Moden, Celina, and Imogene Lawhead, Portland, Ind.; a brother-in-law, Eldon (Mildred) Grapner, Celina; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
 Deceased are a son-in-law, Tom Lawhead; a brother, Leverl Tucker; and a granddaughter.
 She worked as an inspector at Mersman Furniture Factory in Celina for 25 years and also sold Avon products in the Celina area for 14 years. A 1932 Coldwater High School graduate, she was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the Womenís Missionary Society and Godís Golden Senior Citizens, all of Portland.
 Services are 3 p.m. Friday at the Portland chapel of Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home, the Rev. James Huey officiating. Burial will follow at North Grove Cemetery, Celina.
 Calling is 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Cora Grunden
 Cora Grunden, 73, 6688 Ohio 219, Celina, died at 10:29 p.m. April 30, 2003, at St. Ritaís Medical Center, Lima.
 She was born March 17, 1930, in Prestonburg, Ky., to Wilbur and Minnie Blackburn. On June 14, 1958, she married Jerry Grunden who survives.
 Also surviving are a son, Tom Gillum, St. Marys; two daughters, Sherrie (Steve) Henderson, Celina, and Brenda Akins, Mississippi; a brother, Allen Blackburn, Logan; a sister, Anna Belle Goble, Marion; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
 Deceased are a son, Ronald L. Gillum; a daughter, Carolyn Croston; and five brothers.
 She retired from Huffyís after 36 years of service.
 Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina. Burial will be at Mercer Memory Gardens.
 Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
