Richard Day
Richard Day, 80, of Lima, died at 1:29 am. July 13, 2006, at his residence.
He was born June 16, 1926, in Lima, to Catherine Sidle. He was raised by Grace and Lewis Stemen. In 1944, he married Nina Scott, who died in 1984. In 1985, he married Patricia Graffam, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Dennis (Teresa), Lima, and Gary (Mary), of Michigan; two daughters, Linda (Jerry) Miller, Columbus, and Cathy Day Eckle, of Florida; a step-son, Kevin (Hala) Montague, of Kuwait; three step-daughters, Linda (Ralph) Avery, Alger, Sue Sterling, Elida, and Karen McNeil, Mount Blanchard; a sister, Rita Beining, Ottoville; a son-in-law, Steve Sibold, St. Marys; a step-daughter-in-law, Joyce Montague, Columbus; 10 grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and 11 step-great grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter, Patricia Sibold; step-son, David Montague; and a step-grandchild.
He was a retired production foreman at Dana Corp. and worked at Hefner Dairy, both of Lima. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1944-1946. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, and Veterans of Foreign War post 1275, both of Lima.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Steve Blum officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima. Military graveside rites will be performed by the VFW.
Calling is 2-7 p.m. Sunday at Siferd Funeral Home, Lima.
