Fun on the job

Members of the Marion Local High School Marching Band thanked the community for its continued support by offering free car washes from 2-6 p.m. at the high school. Nick Wolters sprays water as Erica Schmackers, left, and Jenna Schwieterman diligently scrub bugs from a car bumper. Band members Stephanie Lochtefeld and Daniel Kuether proposed the project as a way of showing appreciation to all those who support fund-raising activities and follow the band to competitions throughout the year. No one kept track of the number of cars, trucks and SUVs that passed through car wash lines.
