A Mercer County revolving loan to help a rural Rockford agricultural business has gained final approval.
The final papers were signed this week, paving the way for the county's first revolving loan to assist a farm operation.
The rights of patients and family members to smoke in stressful situations kept board members, at least temporarily, from approving a total ban on smoking at Mercer Health facilities.
Even though Mercer County is not in the running for state grant money to create large industrial sites, the county remains in good shape to attract new businesses, Community Development Director Larry Stelzer said.
