Gerald Berry
Gerald E. Berry, 84, 203 S. Walnut St., Mendon, died Aug. 31, 2006, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 15, 1921, in Huntington, Ind., to Samuel E. and Sarah L. Miller Berry. On Nov. 9, 1946, he married Clara B. Ditton who died Nov. 1, 1982.
Surviving are two sons, Robert of Denver, Colo., and Danny Lee, St. Marys; two brothers, Harold (Nora) and Charles (Donna), all of Huntington; four sisters, Emma Taylor, Phoenix, Ariz., Waneta Slagel, Andrews, Ind., Iris Whitesell, Huntington, and Martha Hartwig, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and a grandson.
Deceased are a son, David; two brothers, James and Lloyd; and four sisters, Elizabeth and Phyllis Berry, Florence Harris and Lucille Green.
He retired from St. Marys Foundry Co. as a core assembler and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Brian Vinson officiating. Burial with military rites will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 9:30-11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
