Naomi Birkmeyer
Naomi A. Birkmeyer, 91, of Coldwater, died at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 10, 2006, at Briarwood Manor Nursing Home, Coldwater.
She was born Nov. 24, 1914, in St. Anthony, to Jacob and Philomena Jutte Weigel. On Sept. 7, 1935, she married Sylvester C. Birkmeyer, who died Aug. 23, 1998.
Survivors are a son, William (Stephanie), Oakmont, Pa.; a daughter, Marjorie Birkmeyer, Coldwater; eight grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter, Janet Stauffer; three brothers, John, Albert and Cyril Weigel; three sisters, Emma Schroer, Henrietta Sudhoff and Sr. M. Caroline Weigel; a son-in-law, Dick Stauffer; and a grandchild.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater; member and past president of St. Ann's Rosary Altar Sodality; member of St. Cecelia Knights of St. John; sewing volunteer at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater; and past president of the former Community Hospital Auxiliary.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Ronald Wilker officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
