Victor Huwer
Victor J. Huwer, 81, 14595 U.S. 127, North Star, died at 7:59 p.m. Sept. 27, 2006, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 21, 1924, in Cranberry Prairie, to John J. and Regina Schwieterman Huwer. On April 18, 1969, he married Marilyn Sanders, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, William (Tammy), Versailles, and Samuel, Troy; a brother, Charles (Ann), Cranberry Prairie; two sisters, Marion (Ivo) Langenkamp, Greenville, and Eileen Barga, Versailles; and two grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother-in-law, Richard Barga.
He was owner and operator of Huwer Excavating, North Star. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, North Star; American Legion Post 648, St. Henry; and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5713, Celina.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. David Zink officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery with military honors provided by the legion and VFW.
Calling is 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry, and 9-10 a.m. Monday at the church.
