The Rev. Louis Schmit, a former Minster pastor, welcomes people to the blessing and tapping of the first keg of Wooden Shoe Beer to be produced since 1954. Looking on is Gene Phlipot, who holds rights to the name and the recipe along with other family members. History from bygone days will flow as the beer will be sold during the 32nd annual Minster Oktoberfest, which begins at 6 p.m. today and continues through Sunday night.
