The big flush
Photo by Mark Pummell/The Daily Standard
The village of Coldwater is removing the sludge in their wastewater treatment plant's second pond. In the top photo, a 17-year buildup has required the use of a dredge to break up the compacted sludge, which is being pumped into the Geotube pictured in the background. The sludge is then filtered with only the water draining back into the pond. The remaining sediments in the Geotube will be land applied at a later date.
