Two United Steelworkers cross picket line in St. Marys

ST. MARYS - Top United Steelworkers union officials stopped in St. Marys this week as part of a multi-city tour in support of striking members on the picket line.

More than 5,000 turkeys perished Wednesday night when fire destroyed a large poultry barn along Huwer Road in Marion Township.
The 50-by-400-foot building, owned by Gerald "Jerry" and Pat Watercutter, 6254 Huwer Road, Maria Stein, was destroyed along with all contents.
Mercer County-Celina City Health Department board members approved a 3 percent wage increase for employees that will take effect in January.

Fort Recovery grad sets record for most digs in season
Although the season didn't end as planned, the 2006 women's volleyball season was very good to Joscie Kaup.
The Fort Recovery graduate and Syracuse junior libero set the school record for digs in a season and is set to break the career record next year as a senior.
