Greene S. Feltner
Greene S. "Gene" Feltner, 83, 5322 Lake Drive, Celina, died at 8:55 p.m. Dec. 7, 2006, at Veterans Hospital, Dayton.
He was born Sept. 4, 1923, in Confluence, Ky., to Garret Carter and Martha Jane Stidham Feltner. He married Margaret J. Lawson Feltner, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Paul Purkey and Gene Phillips, both of Tennessee; three step-sons, Robert (Karen) Hunter, Celina, David (Linda) Hunter, New Bremen, and George (Mona) Hunter, Dayton; two step-daughters, Debbie (Mike) Dale and Pat (Dale) Ford, all of Celina; a sister-in-law, Betty Feltner, London, Ky.; 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers, Bert, Jack and Paul; and a sister, Grace Tompkins.
He was employed by Sheet Metal Local 24 and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post 470, Coldwater; Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5713, Celina; Masonic Temple, Dayton, Scottish Rite of Dayton and the Kentucky Colonels.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater, the Rev. Randy Christian officiating. Masonic Temple and Scottish Rite services are 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial is at Ellis Cemetery, Montezuma. American Legion Post 470 will conduct military rites at the cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. today at the funeral home and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
