Kevin Gossard
Former St. Marys resident Kevin W. Gossard, 37, of Mount Cory, died at 4:43 p.m. Jan. 15, 2007, as result of a van-train accident in rural Hancock County.
He was born June 12, 1969, in Fort Lee, Va., to David and Stella Mae Hut Gossard, who survive in Uniopolis. On Sept. 26, 1998, he married Jessica Bargdill, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Nick and Zach both of Harrod, and Alex, Mount Cory; three daughters, Kelly and Haley, both of Harrod, and Lindsay, Mt. Cory; two brothers, Brian (Brandy), Botkins, and Steven (Jessica), Uniopolis; a sister, Lori (Chris) Ryder, Jackson Center; a grandmother, Mary Blakely, Waynesfield; and father and mother-in-law, Stephen and Connie Bargdill, Botkins.
He was a firefighter/EMT for the Findlay Fire Department. He was an EMT at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay, and had been employed by the St. Marys Fire Department. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, having served as a corporal during the Persian Gulf War. He was a 1987 graduate of Wapakoneta Senior High School and Ohio Fire Academy, Reynoldsburg.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, Ohio 703 West, St. Marys. Burial with military rites will follow at Willow Branch Cemetery, Waynesfield.
Calling is 2-8 p.m Friday at the funeral home.
