Paul Green
Paul Green, 89, 6954 Burrville Road, Celina, died at 9:25 p.m. Feb. 5, 2007, at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
He was born on Dec. 9, 1917, in Mercer County, to Cassius and Gertrude Moore Green. He married Wanda Nell Fennig, who died Oct. 20, 1977.
Survivors are two sons, Richard (Pat) and Lyn (Rose), all of Celina; a daughter, Nila Clementson, Oakwood; a brother, Murle (Berniece), Celina; and three sisters-in-law, Fern and Ester, both of Celina, and Nadine, Sun City Center, Fla.; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a stepmother, Hattie Cordier Green; four brothers, Allen Gale, Chester, Wayne and Gene; a sister, Mary Kathryn VonGries; a stepsister, Ruth Snider; and a son-in-law, Ed Clementson.
He retired from the press room at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., St. Marys, after 31 years and also farmed. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving as a medic in the Philippines and South Pacific. He attended Mount Carmel Church of God, Celina, and was a member of Montezuma United Methodist Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #5713.
Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Mark Wakeland officiating. Burial is at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina, with graveside military rites conducted by the VFW and American Legion Post #210.
Calling is 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
