13-year-old driver wrecks mini van

4 teens transported to area hospital

By Margie Wuebker
Offering to let a 13-year-old passenger get behind the wheel of a 1987 Chevy minivan led to an accident injuring the underage driver, the owner of the vehicle and two other passengers.
The accident occurred at 10:58 a.m. Saturday in the 1400 block of Burrville Road, according to Mercer County Sheriff's Office reports.
Dustin J. Noggler, 19, 935 Peters Road, Fort Recovery, reportedly allowed 13-year-old Taylor Sullenberger of Union City to drive at some point. The northbound vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and Sullenberger reportedly overcorrected. The minivan came to a rest after hitting a tree.
In addition to Noggler and Sullenberger, others taken by ambulance to Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater were Jacob A. Hart, 16, 2204 McFeely-Petry Road, New Weston, and Brittany Cox, 16, of Union City, Ind.
No information regarding their conditions was available from hospital sources due to federal patient privacy regulations.
The heavily damaged van was towed from the scene and the accident still remains under investigation.
