Anna Lou Thien, 79, 83 N. Hanover St., Minster, died at 3:50 a.m. today, April 15, 2007, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Minster.

She was born March 28, 1928, in Minster, to Robert and Ida Oldiges Garmann. On April 30, 1947, she married Frederick Thien, who died Feb. 9, 1997.

Surviving are four sons, Fred R. (Kathleen), Rome N.Y., Thomas, Celina, Ronald, Dayton, and Rick, Minster; three daughters: Mary Ellen (Harold) McCollough, Sidney, Patricia Bolden, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Nancy (Alan) Winner, Osgood; a daughter-in-law, Judy, Minster; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Deceased are a son, Robert; two brothers, Robert and Edmund Garmann; a sister, Doris Garmann and two deceased grandchildren.

She was a retired co-owner with her husband of the Garmann Store, Minster, and a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1391, Minster.

Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Rick Nieberding officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.

Calling is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-9:30 a.m. Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
