H.B. Williams
Former Celina teacher H.B. "Bill" Williams, 93, of North Manchester, Ind., died May 14, 2007, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was born Feb. 27, 1914, in Lagro, Ind., to Harry and Merlee Brothers Williams. He married Martha Jane Eaglebarger, who died in 1992. He then married Dorotha J. Brandon, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Jon (Debbie), Bakersfield, Calif.; three daughters, Jody (Ed) Welz, Mulberry, Fla., Dede (Don) Sherman, Huntington, Ind., and Becky (Jack) Cunningham, Taft, Calif.; a sister, Ivadine (Tee) Long, Fort Wayne; a stepson, Terry (Charlie) Brandon, Celina; a stepdaughter, Deanne (Bob) Seeley, Buskirk, N.Y.; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
He was a teacher and coach at several schools and colleges in Indiana, California and Ohio, including Celina High School from 1937 to 1942. He was a 1932 graduate of Largo High School, a 1936 graduate of Manchester College and graduated from St. Francis in the late 1960s. He was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Fort Wayne, and the Masonic Lodge, Huntington.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
Calling is 9-11 a.m. Friday at the church.
Contributions can be sent to Manchester College Athletic Department, Timbercrest Retirement Community, the church or the athletic department at any of the schools he taught.
