Eugene Schoenlein
Eugene F. Schoenlein, 87, 1699 Siegrist-Jutte Road, Fort Recovery, died at 12:45 a.m. July 22, 2007, at The Gardens at St. Henry.
He was born Nov. 30, 1919, in St. Peter, to Joseph and Mary Brunswick Post Schoenlein. On Nov. 22, 1944, he married Dorothy Moeller, who survives in St. Henry.
Surviving are a son, Gene (Ginny), St. Peter; five daughters, Mary Ellen Oomens, Dayton, Connie (Robert "Zeke") Hart, Fort Recovery, Lillian (Ron) Dues and Lisa (Bill) Dues, all of St. Anthony, and Laurie (Dick) Dues, St. Peter; a half sister-in-law, Mary Post, Fort Recovery; 23 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Virgil; three half brothers, Aloys, Anthony and Albert Post; and two half sisters, Bernadine Wendel and Regina Wendel.
He retired as a farmer and was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society, and Knights of Columbus Council 3324, Fort Recovery.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Charles Mullen officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-9:45 a.m. Wednesday at Brockman & Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery. A prayer service will be conducted at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday by the Knights of Columbus.
