Nancy Valentine
Nancy May Valentine, 56, 4263 West 200 South, Portland, Ind., died August 7, 2007, at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born December 17, 1950, in Mercer, to Harley and Myrna Smith Yahn. On July 24, 1977, she married John Valentine, who survives.
Other survivors are a son, Madison, Portland; two daughters, Julena and Carrie, both of Portland; two sisters, Glendola Yahn, Berne, Ind., and Sherry Quantaince, Mercer; and a grandson.
She was a school bus driver for Jay School Corp. She was a member of Redkey United Methodist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge, both of Portland, and the Extension Homemakers, where she served on the board. She also was a a Girl Scout leader.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Baird-Freeman Funeral Home, the Rev. Randy Davis officiating. Burial is at Green Park Cemetery.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
