Violet Smith
Violet M. Smith, 97, of Fort Wayne, Ind., died Aug. 20, 2007, at the Lutheran Home, Fort Wayne.
She was born Oct. 8, 1909, in Paulding, to Benjamin and Ida Burnham Wearda. On April 11, 1931, she married Raymond Smith, who is deceased.
Surviving are five sons, Robert (Judith), Coldwater, Mich., Donald (Connie), Sun City Center, Fla., Edward (Mary), Celina, Jack (Janice), Peoria, Ariz., Terry, Columbia City, Ind.; nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, grandson and a sister.
She retired from General Electric Company in 1973 with 25 years of service. She was a member of Liberty Mills Church of the Nazarene, GE Quarter Century Club and Elex Club.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, Fort Wayne, Ind. Burial is at Covington Memorial Gardens.
Calling is noon-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Gerald Woods
Services for Gerald "Buss" Woods were Aug. 21, 2007, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Steve Howell officiated.
Pallbearers to Swamp College Cemetery, Celina, were Jeremy, Justin, Dustin, John and Ed Woods and Joseph Rider. Military rites were conducted by the American Legion Post 210 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5713, Celina.
