Celina firefighters check for hot spots at a home at 330 Godfrey Ave. in the wake of a fire reported at 1:24 p.m. Monday. The blaze apparently started in a first floor bedroom with heavy heat and smoke damage throughout. A baby sitter managed to get several small children outside without mishap. Renters Joel and Lisa Castorena do not have insurance and are being assisted by the Red Cross while property owner Steve Hunter reportedly has insurance. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Two trucks and 10 firefighters remained on the scene three hours.
