Elsie Borgert
Elsie A. Borgert, 87, 88 N. Frankfort St., Minster, died at 11:35 p.m. Oct. 19, 2007, at Hospice of Dayton.
She was born Feb. 3, 1920, in Minster, to Henry and Emma Thieman Schmitmeyer. On April 11, 1942, she married Elmer U. Borgert, who died June 5, 1991.
Surviving are three sons, Orville (Jean) and Patrick, all of Minster, and Thomas (Patricia) Springboro; two daughters, Linda Lopez, Fort Worth, Texas, and Deborah (Michael) Keiser, North Star; a brother, Fred (Alberta) Schmitmeyer, Minster; a twin sister, Clara Schmiesing, McCartyville, and a sister, Velma Wellman, Coldwater; a sister-in-law, Thelma Schmitmeyer, Minster; 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter, Jane Norris; three brothers, Leander, Henry and Albert Schmitmeyer; and five sisters, Mathilda Poeppelman, Rosie Enneking, Leona Schmieder, Marie Holdheide and Henrietta Hoying.
She was a caregiver and member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster. She also was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aries 1391, Minster.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Mark Schmieder officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-9:30 a.m. Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
Contributions can be made to Hospice of Dayton and Sts. Frances and Joseph Catholic Work House, Cincinnati.
