The Prairie Schooner wagon with a straw family and cornstalk horses was made by Charlie and Betty Gaerke. The display is at their farm on Philothea Road near Fort Recovery. The couple say they enjoy the attention their autumn exhibit draws. The Gaerkes want to honor the pioneers, some of whom traveled West in schooners, which are half-sized versions of Conestoga wagons.
