Robert Poor
Celina native Robert C. Poor, 83, of Elwood, Ind., died Nov. 30, 2007, at his home.
He was born Sept. 5, 1924, in Celina, to Earl O. and Chloe B. Andrews Poor. On June 1, 1952, he married Rebecca Orbaugh, who survives.
Other survivors are three sons, Michael (Maria), Greenfield, Ind., Stephen (Dawn), New Haven, Ind., and Eric (Lori), Elwood; a daughter, Deborah (Darrell) Hobbs, Elwood; a sister, Miriam, Silver Springs, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter, Laureen; four brothers; and seven sisters.
He retired in 1993 from Delco Remy, Anderson, Ind., where he worked in production. A graduate of the former Neptune High School, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in Germany where he was a prisoner of war during the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of East Main Street Christian Church, Elwood, and the United Auto Workers Local 662, Anderson.
Services were held Dec. 5 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home, Elwood. Burial was at Elwood City Cemetery.
