Elmer Wynk
Elmer "EJ" Wynk, 84, 3160 c.R. 716A, St. Sebastian, died at 11:07 a.m. Feb. 14, 2008, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born Oct. 8, 1923, in Montezuma, to John and Catherine Steuve Wynk. On May 29, 1948, he married Jean Fleck, who survives.
Other survivors are two sons, William (Sharon), Coldwater, and David (Lucy), Chickasaw; two daughters, Diane (Ted) Bertke, St. Sebastian, and Sue (Rick) Roeckner, Chickasaw; a sister, Lorena Reichert, Cassella; two sisters-in-law, Wilma, Osgood, and Rita, Carthagena.
Deceased are two brothers, Lester and Robert; and a sister, Dorothy.
He was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church, the Men's Holy Name Society of the church, Maria Stein American Legion 571 and Veterans of Foreign Wars, Chickasaw. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II. He was former owner of EJ Wynk Construction in Chickasaw.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Kenneth Schroeder officiating. Burial, with military rites, is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Monday and 9-9:45 a.m. Tuesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
