Herbert Rolfes

Herbert H. Rolfes, 84, 1208 Rolfes Road, Maria Stein, died at 1:25 a.m. March 7, 2008, at Briarwood Manor Nursing Home, Coldwater.

He was born May 5, 1923, in Maria Stein to Ferd and Margaret Overman Rolfes.

Surviving are a sister, Alma (Victor) Prenger, Maria Stein; two nephews, Fred (Janice) Prenger, Houston, and Tony (Chris) Prenger, Maria Stein; and three nieces, Rose Ann (Philip) Schaeffing, Columbus, Margie (Ralph) Griesdorn, Celina, and Mary (Dan) Heitkamp, Coldwater.

He was a retired farmer. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and its Men's Sodality, and the Knights of St. John, all of Maria Stein; and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Minster.

Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Harry Cavanaugh officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.

Calling is 2-8 p.m. Monday and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
