Luke Schultz
Former Celina resident Mary Ellen "Luke" Schultz, 80, died March 17, 2008, in McKinleyville, Calif.
She was born Nov. 24, 1928, in Newark, to Thomas and Mabel Raison. In 1949, she married Phil Schultz, who died in 1974.
Surviving are a son Eric, McKinleyville; two daughters, Lynn (Gordon) Skaggs, McKinleyville, and Gail (Gordon) Woodside, Chicago; two grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren.
Deceased are an infant son, Thomas; a daughter, Lisa Mullen; and two brothers, Richard and James Raison.
She attended Ohio State University and Wright State University and earned a degree in psychology at Humboldt State University in California in 1978. She returned to Celina in 1979, and served a year as director of the Mercer County unit of the American Cancer Society. She was a social worker for the Mercer County welfare agency in Celina and for the Humboldt County California Department of Social Services, and also did clerical work for Arcata Library in Arcata, Calif. In 1986, she joined the Peace Corps. and served two years in Belize in Central America.
No services were held at the request of the deceased.
Arrangements were handled by Paul's Chapel of Arcata.
